How to fix Crooked Teeth in Adults?

How to fix Crooked Teeth in Adults?Having a straight smile is a confidence boost, especially as an adult. As children, braces are a common fix for crooked teeth. However, not every child grew up with braces. Others simply did not require them. For some, braces were too pricey while others got crooked teeth as adults. All hope is not lost though, as it is still possible to straighten crooked teeth as an adult.

Teeth Alignment in Adults

There are various ways of aligning your teeth as an adult which include visible or invisible braces. Where confidence is an issue and you do not want the focus on the blatantly visible braces, invisible braces are a great choice. However, there are several things that your dentist will consider before approving the most appropriate method to use.

Visible Braces

There are both visible and invisible ways of fixing crooked teeth. The visible options involve the fixations at the front of the teeth that make them visible to the naked eye; it could be conventional metal wires with stainless-steel clamps or conventional metal wires with ceramic brackets that are dental-colored. This is a great option for closing significant gaps.

Invisible braces

Invisible braces are normally fixed at the back of the teeth, obscuring them. Lingual braces, Invisalign, clear ceramic braces, and orthopedic expansions are some examples of invisible braces that an adult can go for.

Lingual braces are metal fixations at the back of the teeth, and they are completely concealed. They are hard to see, even up close, and are a good option for patients seeking discreet teeth alignment.

Without using metals, Invisalign uses a transparent set of detachable orthodontic aligners to straighten teeth. The aligners are normally replaced after a fortnight. These are preferable as they are less obstructive and are removable at will.
